Abstract

Тесная взаимосвязь артериальной гипертонии (АГ) и атеросклероза подтверждена многочисленными экспериментальными и клиническим данными. Процессы, приводящие к развитию атеросклероза, начинаются во второй декаде жизни и неуклонно прогрессируют с возрастом, но длительное время остаются бессимптомными. Как правило, терапевтическое вмешательство начинается на тех этапах, когда пациент уже имеет такие клинические проявления атеросклероза, как стенокардия, инсульт или инфаркт миокарда. Классическими факторами риска можно объяснить не более половины случаев развития сердечно сосудистых осложнений [1], поэтому крайне важно оценивать атеросклероз не только на уровне факторов риска, но и на ранних, бессимптомных стадиях заболевания.
