I am pleased to present the second issue of the journal Quality Clinical Practice for the year 2026. This volume brings together materials that reflect a broad spectrum of current challenges in clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, and related disciplines – ranging from fundamental mechanisms of drug interactions to practical applications of digital technologies in healthcare.

The issue opens with a pharmacoepidemiological study on the 15‑year dynamics of glucagon‑like peptide‑1 receptor agonist consumption in the Russian Federation. The work demonstrates an impressive 733‑fold increase in the use of this drug class, mirroring global trends in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity.

The drug safety section features a comprehensive review of drug‑induced lesions of the digestive system, in which the authors thoroughly analyse the mechanisms of adverse reactions from the oral cavity to the liver and pancreas. Particular attention is paid to NSAID‑induced gastropathies and antibiotic‑associated intestinal damage.

The clinical audit section presents a retrospective analysis of NSAID prescriptions and the “Triple Whammy” phenomenon in polymorbid outpatients. The authors demonstrate a high frequency of potentially nephrotoxic combinations in patients with reduced renal function, underscoring the need for computerised physician decision support systems.

In the clinical pharmacokinetics section, a systematic review of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of linezolid in children of different age groups is presented. The necessity of therapeutic drug monitoring for individualised dosing, especially in neonates and preterm infants, is substantiated.

A pharmacogenetic investigation revealed associations of CYP1A2 and CYP1B1 gene polymorphisms with endometrial thickness on the day of ovulation trigger administration in patients with anovulatory infertility undergoing IVF programmes, opening perspectives for personalised endometrial preparation protocols.

The internal medicine section publishes a study on lipopolysaccharide‑binding systems and endothelial nitric oxide synthase in patients with gout. For the first time, a significant positive correlation between BPI and NOS3 levels has been identified, indicating a link between innate immunity and endothelial function.

The issue concludes with a review of modern ultrasound diagnostic capabilities for pelvic floor dysfunction, covering in detail transperineal, 3D and 4D approaches, as well as the role of the method in selecting conservative versus surgical management strategies.
