Неоспоримой «жесткой» конечной точкой АГ является сердечно-сосудистая смертность; нефатальные сердечно-сосудистые осложнения (острый инфаркт миокарда, инсульт) зачастую включают в эту категорию. Изучение «жестких» конечных точек АГ в КИ не всегда реалистично ввиду их небольшой продолжительности (3-5 лет), особенно в случае включения больных с относительно невысоким риском.
